ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I reside in Sydney and have worked in the recruitment industry since 2004, having led teams empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

I am a proud single father of Archie (5). Archie was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and has undergone three major surgeries to date. As a result of Archie’s cleft, he attends speech therapy to support his ongoing development, and will have future surgeries to support his livelihood.

I have always been an avid writer, specifically creating meaningful and personalised ballad poems from the age of 11 and over time have homed in on this creative outlet over the years dedicating a variety of ballad poems for friends and family for special occasions.

Behind the book

My son, Archie was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and had undergone two major surgeries in his first 18-months.

At 2 years old, Archie’s Mum and I separated which was challenging.

I wanted a way to draw these events into a story for Archie, especially given the challenges of the world we live in regarding bullying in any form, self-doubt and insecurities, and loss. I wanted to create something for him to hold onto, for him to not only understand his own ability and uniqueness, but celebrate other’s uniqueness and differences but being true to him, having that belief in his ability and who he is and will be, and knowing wherever he is in life and who he is surrounded by or not, that he is and will always be loved, and that love is undying.
